狗貓可以使用精油嗎?

什麼是精油? 

精油是透過蒸餾、溶劑萃取、人工壓榨或其他特殊方式，從植物中分離出具有特殊味道的油膏狀物質。 

精油與純露的區別

純露是蒸餾精油過程中產生含有植物成分的水性物質。兩者的差別在於精油具有揮發性且難容於水，而純露是水溶性的。 

為什麼要使用精油?  

精油可透過塗抹或薰香的方式經由皮膚或呼吸道吸收進入體內，達到舒緩情緒與增進身體健康的作用 。這種治療方式就稱為芳香療法。

精油的主要功效

1. 抗細菌、病毒、黴菌、寄生蟲。

2. 抗發炎。

3. 情緒穩定。

4. 提升免疫。 

狗貓使用精油注意事項

1. 諮詢有公信力單位認證的芳療師或獸醫師。

2. 一定要稀釋（混合基底油或加水噴霧）。

3. 選擇品質穩定的精油（不同品種、栽種環境所含的成分也可能不同）。 

4. 先測試動物是否能接受精油味道。

5. 年幼與懷孕的動物應警慎使用。

6. 避開眼睛與嘴巴周圍。

7. 動物出現任何不適的狀況馬上停止使用。

狗應避免使用的精油

樺樹、白千層（茶樹）和冬青、牛至、決明子、肉桂、丁香、迷迭香和百里香。 

貓應避免使用的精油 

柑橘類（佛手柑、葡萄柚、檸檬、橙子、橘子) 、白千層（茶樹）、冬青、羅勒、樺樹、 牛至、肉桂、丁香、百里香、迷迭香、蒔蘿、茴香、薄荷。 

狗貓可用的精油

乳香、薰衣草、沒藥、羅馬洋甘菊、古巴香脂、小荳蔻、尤加利、天竺葵 、蠟菊 、馬鬱蘭 、廣藿香。 

總結 

1. 多數的精油沒有狗貓的毒性試驗來決定安全用量，只能仰賴經驗法則。

2. 精油經過適當稀釋後才可以使用在狗貓身上。  

3. 精油對的特定狗貓疾病有改善的效果。  

4. 天然不等於安全！部分精油對狗貓具有毒性要避免使用。

1. 衡量使用精油的益處與風險。

2. 諮詢有信譽的芳療專家。 

3. 使用品質可靠的精油。 

4. 避免使用在肝腎有問題的動物。 

5. 動物有不適或有健康疑慮（ex.使用後肝指數異常）應停止使用。
